August 20, 2014 – Kaysville, UT Insight Software Solutions, Inc. has announced that they have released a new version of ShortKeys software, their keystrokes for Windows program with additions and changes that make the program easier to use and more efficient than ever before. Some changes include: improving the playback reliability of the keystrokes for Windows program and adding a visual element that shows exactly what needs to be typed, based on the playback settings selected. This makes it easier than ever to use the program, even for employees that have never used keystrokes for Windows program before.

ShortKeys is a macro utility allowing users to set up replacement text or paragraphs for any given number of user defined keystrokes. ShortKeys monitors the keyboard activity on a global nature and anytime a user defined keystroke combination (shortkey) is typed in, it will be replaced with the replacement text. It replaces a text string of up to 32 characters with a word, sentence, paragraph or several paragraphs, saving the user time by not having to manually type text. This also allows for errors in typing to be eliminated. Individuals may enter an unlimited number of replacement text combinations. The replacement text may be up to 65,536 characters in length.

The program is easy to use and beneficial for a variety of industries. Rather than type the same response each time, anyone from sales to management can type a several character shortcut to type out the full response. If an employee doesn’t have a shortkey already created for a question, after composing a well-crafted response, it’s simple to copy the response to the clipboard, paste into ShortKeys, assign a shortcut and save. It’s now ready for use the next time a similar question arrives.
